Many other courses offer separate course parts [ex. I, II, III] or online training modules. These companies claim they offer LIVE training but when you read into the different online course part descriptions or online modules, you will find case assignments and teachings are done as a home study [not live]. The majority of the training is done as a home study and not in a 100% LIVE online teaching setting, as claimed in the companies advertising.

Evans & Associates Ltd. gives you individual attention in our small online and onsite classroom settings. We have high intensity training sessions to get our students ready to function independently as a RLNC.

Evans & Associates Ltd. RLNC course offers group projects and group participation during both our onsite and live online courses.  You will never feel like you are teaching yourself during the course because we are there live in all classes, to guide you through the entire course.

You do all work products with assistance from our instructors during the RLNC course.  We will never have you put together a work product example on your own time outside of the certification course. Our goal is to have you feel confident in composing a work product so you can function independently as a RLNC upon  completion of the RLNC certification program. We believe you will achieve this with our step-by-step instruction during the course and not by figuring out how to do the work products at home on your own.

Evans & Associates Ltd. does not recommend separate "internship" programs. Most of these "internship" programs the host is getting paid for the student to complete their case loads.. Therefore, many of these presenters of "internship programs" are more concerned with getting the project completed for the attorney than training the LNC student's that have paid for the internship program.

Evans & Associates Ltd. includes an internship program with hands on training within our RLNC course. The student will get to compose many work products during the RLNC course so they are  comfortable with the process and application of theory as it applies to medical malpractice and product liability type cases.

Many companies offer special "investigator" type courses separate from their offered Legal Nurse Consultant courses, which claim to enhance students knowledge of Legal Nurse Consulting. These courses are encouraged to be completed after a student has completed the initial LNC certification program. These courses are offered as separate course cost.

Evans & Associates Ltd. believes if you can't use your nursing "investigation" skills after the completion of a LNC certification program, assessment of the companies LNC curriculum needs to be strongly questioned.

The student needs to question how strong and respected is a company if they offer many credentials and programs to teach basically the same thing which is: 

The application of nursing knowledge and expertise to the investigation of medical records and deviations from standards of care performed by individuals and or company's, which are involved in medical malpractice or product liability type cases.

If the potential student is confused on the many different certification programs offered by a particular company, imagine how confused the attorneys will be when a LNC has many credentials at the end of his or her name all having to do with Legal Nurse Consulting!

Evans & Associates Ltd. does not require practicing experience as a Legal Nurse Consultant to sit for our Registered Legal Nurse Consultant Certification (RLNC) exam.

May require you to have so many hours of experience as a practicing Legal Nurse Consultant before you are able to sit for the company’s or association's certification exam.

Seminar is taught by Ann Evans RN, BSN, LNC who developed the “Registered Legal Nurse Consultant Certification Course” and other guest speakers “practicing Legal Nurse Consultants” who have had hands on experience dealing with all different case types.

Many Legal Nurse Consultant programs may be taught by attorneys, paralegals or other nurses who may not have the hands on experience as practicing Legal Nurse Consultants.

Evans & Associates offers “hands on experience” and group interaction during the course. You will screen cases for merit, do chronological time line of events, and many more group activities during the course.

These hands on activities will prepare you for what you will be actually doing for the attorney so you don’t feel unprepared when you get your first case. The “hands on” activities are included in Evans & Associates Ltd. enrollment fee at no addition charge.

Evans & Associates goal is to prepare you to take your first case. We know that the learning curve is increased when our students get to actually work a case from start to finish. We don’t want our students going home not knowing where to start. We want them to feel ready and confident to take on their first case!

Other courses may provide just lecture material during the course. You will have to figure out how to do the “hands on exercises” on your own for example screening  a case for merit, composing a  chronological time line of events, and many more paper work type activities.

Other courses may charge another fee on top of what you have already paid for the course to get “hands on experience”. The "internship" may even be a separate course all together which will increase you tuition cost.

Other courses may provide you with example cases to read. They may also charge you an additional fee to receive these case examples. Remember reading a case example and composing an actual case example could make the difference of feeling prepared verses not knowing where to start.

Evans & Associates Ltd is aware there is not one "National Certification" to become a LNC. To become a licensed Registered Nurse one needs to pass the NCLEX. The field of LNC does not have a nationally approved or required exam or certification which needs to be passed before practicing as a Legal Nurse Consultant.

The only requirement is you are a Registered Nurse. There are many different courses which offer certification or certificates but one is not superior over the other in respect to only one certification or certificate is valid. No one course is nationally recognized by a governing institution which legally requires you to take “only” that course to practice as a Legal Nurse Consultant.

At this point to become a practicing LNC you are not required by law to hold ANY certification, license, certificate etc. So what you are paying for when taking any LNC course (certificate or certification course) is continuing education and certification (or a certificate) offered by the institution in which you register for the course.

You are also paying for the right to use that entities certification mark after your name once you complete all that particular entities course requirements.

Other companies may fail to explain to become a practicing LNC you are not required by law to hold ANY certification, license, certificate etc. So what you are paying for when taking any LNC course (certificate or certification course) is continuing education and certification (or a certificate) offered by the institution in which you register for the course.

Many other courses may deem their company as the only one offering a “valid” certification course and or may deem their course as being “superior” over others. Remember this is the company’s opinion and you will have to do the research to determine if you feel this is the best certification program for you.

They may also have a separate organization or association which they may claim is their "certifying body" of certification to make their course “look” more important. Make sure to clarify that this body is not a legally governing body but just another organization or association created by the business which is offering the course.

Evans & Associates Ltd. has small online and onsite class sizes to promote learning and group participation. Not only do we provide the “hands on experience” you need but each instructor will interact with you personally and will be able to answer all your questions as you progress through the class.

Other Certification or Certificate programs may have a couple hundred if not more students. At this size how will one instructor interact with all the students which have attended the class. You may fail to get the experience you need during the course if you do not get the hands on experience along with individual interaction with the instructors teaching the class.

This way a potential student can see how extensive our course is and how taking Evans & Associates Ltd. RLNC Course will save any potential student hundreds to thousands of dollars.

Evans & Associates has two course packages which you can choose from [Online or Onsite]. There are no additional hidden costs. We do not charge you extra for the “hands on” experience that other courses may charge.

The cost of other LNC courses may cost thousands of dollars more than Evans & Associates Ltd. RLNC course and may not be as comprehensive.

Other courses may talk a lot of talk but not have an extensive outline for you to review and compare to other courses.

Other courses may offer a “hands on course”,  “apprenticeship” or internships, after the certification or certificate course is completed for an additional course fee.

Remember paying more does not mean you are always getting more. Do your comparison before you decide which certification course is right for you.

The student will be required to complete 8 hours of continuing education in legal nursing. The fee for recertification every two years is $100.00 and must be submitted with proof of continuing education hours completed and nursing license. The student at all times must hold an active nursing license to use the RLNC credentials.

Evans & Associates Ltd. allows our students to submit CEU’s not provided by Evans & Associates.

Other courses may charge hundreds of dollars for recertification fees along with the fees you will pay for their continuing education.

Other courses may not allow past students to take other Continuing Education Units other than the ones they provide.
